The South Beach Triathlon is proud to provide a wide variety of resources dedicated to helping you meet all of your triathlon goals — whether it be finishing your first race or setting a long-standing personal best.

Pre Race Open Water Swim Clinics

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced swimmer, there is no substitute for training in open water. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to train in the same waters you will be racing. Life Time Tri is excited to host this event for the 2018 South Beach Triathlon, with 100% of proceeds going directly to featured charity partner, Save the Children.

2018 Dates (Saturday, March 3 & Saturday, April 14)
Check-In Begins: 8:00 a.m.
Swim Session:
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Where: Miami Beach – Ocean Drive at the intersection of 5th St.
Instructed by: A variety of local Tri Coaches – with safety provided by Miami Beach Lifeguards

The swim clinic will cover the following basics:

  • What to expect on race day
  • Open water swimming techniques
  • Swim starts and exits
  • Drafting and pacing
  • Breathing and sighting techniques
  • Strategy for rough and calm waters
  • Mental preparation and conditioning
  • Safety

There will be lifeguard support and buoys to create an actual race course. This is a great opportunity to pick up valuable open water swimming experience with coaches and other athletes to help make your race a better experience! After going through some basic drills, you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy some swimming. All levels of swimmers are welcome.

The cost of the swim clinic is $10, with all proceeds benefiting Save the Children. Participants must register in advance using the link below, and will be required to attend a briefing prior to the start.

Life Time Endurance Training

From First Timers to the Podium.
Whether you’re a beginner preparing for your first race, or a seasoned expert competing for a spot on the podium, the Life Time Endurance staff of helpful, dedicated triathlon coaching professionals can help you to reach your goals. Now is the time to join a fun, social and — most importantly — effective training program at Life Time.

INDOOR TRIATHLON

Indoor_Tri_4cIf you’ve ever wanted to try a tri, this is where to start. The 60-minute indoor workout will feature a 10-minute pool swim, 30-minute spin on a bike, 20-minute treadmill run and is the perfect way to kick-start your triathlon training. The indoor triathlon is based on time rather than distance — meaning you receive points for going further in a specific period of time, not going faster over a fixed distance. Participants are graded on a curve.

All Indoor Tri participants will receive:

  • “Triathlete” Indoor Tri lifestyle shirt
  • Race bib
  • Swim cap
  • Additional great offers from Life Time for members and guests

Athletes of all abilities from beginner to experienced are invited. Indoor Tri events are open to both members and non-members of Life Time Fitness.
